There is nothing more frustrating than working hard in the gym all week, jumping on the scale and seeing nothings has changed. Quite frankly, it's disheartening and can make you want to give up and return to your old habits quicker than fast.

Before you do that just consider these 4 reasons which might help explain why you're not seeing the results you'd hoped for.

Top 10 winter foods for glowing skin

I am finally back after the most amazing time celebrating our wedding, followed by a wonderful honeymoon in Corsica.

Unfortunately, all the late nights, long haul flights, lack of fresh food and invisible zinc has taken its toll on my skin. It's a good reminder to me that lifestyle factors can really effect my skin. I went from having beautiful clear bright skin, to having dull bumpy skin in a matter of weeks.

If you're looking for a sneaky way to incorporate more veggies into your diet (or your families) have you ever considered vegetable powders?

Now I'm not talking about substituting real veggies for powders, fresh is definitely best, but I'm talking about giving your existing recipes a little hit of extra nutrition.

The term self-love is being thrown round a lot in the health and wellness industry. But what does self-love actually mean?

The term self-love is a little ambiguous; we kind of know what the concept is and we think we might be practicing it, BUT if we were asked to give concrete and tangible steps on how to build self-love, could you do it?

Three Kale Slaw

A few weekends ago I finally got around to planting some winter veggies. I went for the usual: beetroot, rainbow swiss chard and then I went a little wild with the kale.

Three varieties of kale in fact; purple kale, curly kale and dinosaur kale.

Wedding Wellness

A couple of weeks ago I shared that I was using F45 to whip me into shape for my wedding (read it here), so this week I thought I'd share the types of foods I've been eating to assist me in feeling great and looking great.

Camu Camu Berry

I was reminded last weekend that flu season is fast approaching. As I jumped into a taxi the driver kindly informed me the that he was running a fever and had the flu - eeeek! I was trapped for 8 (long) minutes and then gingerly handed over the exact amount of money trying to avoid all physical contact.

As it's now Friday and I am still fighting fit, I clearly managed to avoid the dreaded lurgy. After falling ill on my one week ski holiday back in January (thanks to plane germs), I've really been focused on boosting my immune system to assure it doesn't happen again, when I head back to England for my wedding in a few weeks.

Blueberry Oat Slice

Sometimes a smoothie just doesn't cut it for breakfast. So I've been experimenting with some breakfast ideas that are still packed with nutrition but can still be made ahead of time and eaten on the go or taken to work.

Roasted beetroot hummus

I hope you've all had a wonderful Easter break and are feeling revived after a good few days off. I went camping and managed to do lots of walking, it was truly blissful to disconnected from everything.

Easter weekend seemed to bring us well and truly into autumn; all this rain and cooler weather has got me excited for all the yummy autumnal produce.

Butternut Salad with Orange and Fennel Seed Dressing

Autumn is officially upon us! The duvet is back on the bed and there's a chill in the morning air.

This can mean only one thing - butternut season is almost here. Butternut is quite possibly my favourite vegetable and during autumn/winter I eat it a lot, much to my boyfriends disgust - he isn't a fan of butternut!

I can't meditate

I can't meditate! How many times have you said that?

I've said it so many times throughout my adult life and it's always met with a cliché (but very true) response like "if you don't have time to meditate, you need to meditate".

Post-Workout Cacao Almond Smoothie

Your post-workout nutrition is so incredibly important! Whatever your health goal is, if you're exercising you need to refuel your body appropriately, in order to stay on track. If you don't follow your workout with the correct nutrition you can end up gaining fat, losing muscle or not seeing the increase in fitness you expected. So it's super important!

The Rosedog and Co

I’d like to introduce you to my friend Rosie, also know as Rosedog! I met Rosie at revision camp when were 17 years old and cramming for our finals. Fast-forward a good 10 years and we’ve both ended up in Australia, albeit at opposite ends, writing blogs.

Sweet Potato Falafels

Believe it or not, sometimes I get a little 'beaned out'. I eat a lot of beans and love them, but sometimes it's just nice to have a meal made from something other than beans. So I came up with this sweet potato falafel recipe - it captures all the yumminess of a falafel, but is a little easier to digest than your typical bean version. It's gluten free, grain free and obviously vegan. I use flaxseed to bind it together, rather than filling it with flour.

It's Time to Ditch the Diet

Happy Friday peeps!

Today I wanted to talk about the craziness that occurs around the term 'diet'. I seriously think it's time we ditch the term 'diet' from our vocabulary, this little four-letter word has a lot to answer for and quite honestly, it does funny things to us women.

Raspberry Coconut Chia Pod

If you're looking for something a little bit different for breakfast, that's still easy to prepare and super tasty, I have just the thing for you!

This raspberry coconut chia seed pod can be whipped up on a lazy sunday afternoon and quickly assembled in the morning or even the night before, making it the perfect breakfast for a busy working week. I make mine in a recycled jam jar - I just layer it up, screw on the lid and head out the door!

Getting sweaty in the City

Come middle of February my exercise routine was coasting a little; I was doing a bit of this, a bit of that, but nothing very challenging or with any focus. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do: I was bored of the gym, yoga wasn't cutting it, my at-home workouts were lacking the intensity I was looking for. Then out of the blue I got a little email inviting me to come checkout F45 in Perths CBD.

Not a Natural Yogi

I admit it, I'm a little addicted to yogi fitspo images on Instagram. Mainly because I'm wowed by what some people can do with their bodies and would love to be able to the same. I got so inspired that when my friend messaged me to tell me Power Living Perth was running their six week 'The Modern Yogi Project', I jumped on board and started fantasising about my future Instagram-worthy flexibility!

Spicy Cauliflower Tacos

Spicy Cauliflower Tacos

Eating a plant-based diet means that Mexican style food is often on the menu. When done correctly it's super fresh, clean and packed with spicy tangy flavour!

This is a little recipe I came up with (inspired by some beautiful Pintrest recipes) and it's oh so delicious if I say so myself- spicy cauliflower tacos with guacamole, tomato salsa and 'sour cream'.

Organic Beauty

Bkind Organic Beauty Bar

Did you know there is an organic beauty bar in Perth? I didn't either until a terrible break-out made me decide it was time to make the switch to organic make-up (read about my skin troubles here). I found this little gem tucked away off the main highstreet in Subiaco.

Bkind Organic Beauty Bar houses the best of organic and natural skincare, make-up, hair care, and perfume from around the world, including their own Bkind range (which I use) - it's a little mecca for any health and beauty enthusiast out there.
